"Midtown Community Works brings a diverse group of institutional and community partners together to comprehensively address development along the Greenway. We at LISC believe it is an excellent tool and forum for not only learning about the variety of things happening along the Greenway and Lake Street, but also as a way of creating collective action in support of those activities." — Paul Williams

Background
Paul Williams was appointed Program Director of Twin Cities Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) in September 1999. LISC is a community development intermediary providing a range of financial and technical assistance to affordable housing, economic development and other community building efforts in distressed inner city neighborhoods. Paul's experience includes extensive work in the philanthropic sector, where he spent close to 10 years developing several cutting-edge grant making initiatives at the Minneapolis and St. Paul Foundations and the United Way of the St. Paul Area. Paul also worked in nonprofit consulting and in state government and is active on numerous community boards. He holds a Masters Degree in Public Affairs from the Hubert H. Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs and a Bachelors Degree in Government and Philosophy from St. John's University.
